Contra Costa Water
District
Los Vaqueros Pipeline Project
Concord, CA |
Conduct
a comprehensive induced AC Study for the Los Vaqueros
Water Pipeline. This pipeline consists of approximately
25 miles of 74” to 106” diameter pipe
which parallels and crosses several major high
voltage transmission corridors in the Livermore
to Antioch area. The purpose of this contract
was to determine if steady state A.C. line loads
and/or fault conditions would induce sufficient
power into the proposed adjacent, parallel water
pipeline to cause a significant hazard to the
pipeline, to the power system or to personnel
in the vicinity. Three different pipeline materials
and/or coatings were evaluated. |
Shea Homes of Northern California
Cypress Road Pipeline Project
Oakley, CA |
Designed
A.C. mitigation system for high voltage transmission
crossings for a new 36” diameter water pipeline.
A combination cathodic protection/stray current
mitigation system was utilized which consisted
of grounding mats at test stations, electrical
isolation of pipeline sections and zinc grounding
anodes running installed continuously with selected
sections of the subject pipeline. |

Engineers
Bethyl Island Road Pipeline Project
Bethyl Island, CA |
Designed
A.C. mitigation system for high voltage transmission
crossings for a new 36” diameter water pipeline.
A combination cathodic protection/stray current
mitigation system was utilized which consisted
of grounding mats at test stations, electrical
isolation of pipeline sections and zinc grounding
anodes running installed continuously with selected
sections of the subject pipeline. |
Florida Gas Transmission
New Gas Transmission Pipeline Project
Central Florida |
Assisted
with computer modeling for a comprehensive induced
AC study for a new gas transmission pipeline project
in Florida for TEDEC/ENRON Pipeline Division.
Scope of work consisted of in-situ soil resistivity
modeling using the SES software package, collecting
from utility companies with respect to tower to
pipeline configuration, fault circuit information,
grid station grounding, etc. |
Grounding System
Testing
Various Clients and Locations
San Francisco Bay Area |
Performed
resistance to remote earth tests using the fall
of potential method for various building projects
in the San Francisco Bay Area. Also, designed
impressed current cathodic protection systems
for building grounding grids for various silicon
valley companies requiring strict grounding resistance
values. |
Concentric Neutral on URD Cables
Various Clients and Locations
United States |
Conducted
corrosion investigations and designed and tested
cathodic protection systems for concentric neutral
on URD cables installed at various locations throughout
the United States. These systems consisted of
impressed current cathodic protection systems.
